Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Brooklyn is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Went there once. First to arrive, because I'm obsessive. I was allowed in, but rather snottily informed that the doors weren't open yet. Chose the seat I wanted with an eye to the best vantage point for shooting video, because I make short clips of the performance and post them on IG. I was then told that I couldn't sit there, because some other people had reserved the bloc of seats that included my spot. This, DESPITE the fact that the website says, and STILL says, that there are no reserved seats and all seating is first come, first served. This is, IMO, a shabby way to treat paying customers. Go see Oscar Noriega and his great band at Barbes, a few blocks away, where the management knows how to treat jazz fans.
